Aunt Rene

I spent most of Tuesday sleeping.  I'm exhausted and emotional.  I woke up again, not too long ago, and can't seem to fall back asleep. (Note, the time)  Oddly, I feel extremely tired still.

The song I am listening to is about dying and going to a "pretty" heaven. I could listen to it over and over again. (Thanks SB)

At my birthday party, someone asked me if they had to call me Irene now.  She said "everything you write is signed Irene.  We've always known you as Rene".  It made me chuckle...because well she's right! I only started "using" Irene when I was 22.  I switched jobs.  My new boss began calling me Irene. I finally liked the way it sounded.  Different. More mature.  It stuck!  I "deemed" myself Irene, from that day on. I certainly don't expect all those who knew me pre "Princess" days to begin calling me Irene.  That would sound weird.  I'll always be Rene to them!!!!

The GREAT exception (and blessing) to the Rene Rule, is being called Aunt Rene.  Not only by my nieces and nephew.  Their friends, and my sister's friends and their children also! I'm Aunt Rene to a bunch of people! I love that! It is music to my ears.

Julie is doing Girl Scout camp this week with the girls.  She sounded a bit ummmm...beat when I spoke to her!  God bless her kind and patient soul in that heat with all those girls!  I'd love to be there but I'm thinking we both know I wouldn't be able to take it!  Not the girls, all the activity for the day!

Just a reminder, if you comment on one of my entries, make sure you go back and look at my comments back to ya!

Quote Of The Day: "When I stand before God at the end of my life I would hope that I would have not a single bit of talent left and could say, I used everything you gave me" Erma Bombeck (Thanks Jules, I  love it!)

I'm climbing back into bed.  I sure do love y'all!

*** Please say prayers for My Aunt Gloria and our family, Nathan (he is doing chemo, again.), Ms Bobby (she started radiation), Mr. Russo, Ms Pammy (recovering from surgery.), LenoreTrish and David Carey. They are fighting the battle with cancer too .

If this is your first time reading my journal, PLEASE go back to my first entry on 11-15-06 to read about the title MEET ME AT THE BREAKFAST TABLE!! Thanks!

Wooo Hoooo! You're up and running again! Tarzan has a tan, Cheetah is velveeta, and Ja-a-ane has a pain! FYI for any of you that have been girl scouts - THE CAMP SONGS HAVE REALLY CHANGED! Can't wait to play the Jello game with my kids and sing the Button Factory song, and the Blue Jay song (he whooped his head and tail away). Woo Hoo - only one more day to learn them all!
